Finnish alternative
singer-songwriter Ronya is proud to announce her new single ‘Flame’, set
for worldwide release this month through Cocoa Music.Widely regarded as one of
the leading female voices in her native country, Ronya began her career with
Warner Music Finland, having been signed to the prestigious label at the tender
age of 17. Having made her successful debut in 2012, she then jumped on the
independent Finnish record label Cocoa Music, home to a rising breed of
exciting multi-media artists.Imbued with an infectious 80s alternative pop
vibe, ‘Flame’ brims with the kind of distinctive Scandinavian influences
currently permeating the thriving electronic music scene today. Intoxicating
guitar twangs and sultry synth tones give way to a pounding bass line that
perfectly complements the young singer’s classic pop vocals. With its hypnotic
chorus, ‘Flame’ is the kind of track that will appeal to lovers of
Swedish contemporary Robyn, while exhibiting edgy nuances of fellow
Nordic indie-electronic artists Niki and The Dove, perfectly capturing Ronya’s
accessible style.Having performed original songs along with jazz and R&B
covers at local venues in her hometown of Helsinki since the age of 14, Ronya’s
diverse influences are tangible in her music, which manifests itself in a
mystical Scandinavian vibe.An artist who writes all her own material, teaming
up with various producers to hone her sound, Ronya is currently working on
tracks for a new album, due to be released later this year. And with such a
compelling lead single at the fore, she promises to set the Nordic-infused
alt-pop scene alight.
