Mark’s the big room house driver come future pastry chef fused with lawyer and car park fine outlaw Wei-Shen, the distinct hedonist of funky house is a tenacious force. With a decade long resume both behind the console and in the studio, it’s without a doubt this house music bred duo reign in the accolades from their base nation across each and every continent.Drawing inspiration from Axwell, Phoenix, Dirty South and of course Ace of Base, with Wei-Shen based in Melbourne and Mark in New York, Those Usual Suspects carry passports for their tunes for miles. From day one the record label epitome shone with their first ‘Dakka’ on Bob Sinclar’s Africanism/Yellow Productions imprint embed airplay on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection.The last few years have seen an uplift in the charts with ‘Shadows’ featuring Abigail Bailey signed to US label Nervous Records climbing into the top 20 Billboard Dance Chart. 2008’s ‘Greece 2000’ remix annihilated the Top 10 ARIA chart and the Swedish House Mafia chart in 2009 and took anthem pride from Miami to Ibiza. Yet it’s ‘Walking Alone’ that menaced global ranking from Beatport top 10, DMC Buzz, UK Cool Cuts and of course the ARIA Charts. It was this tune that raised the stakes… Collaborating with Dirty South and epic vocalist Erik Hecht. It moved from the studio to the Swedish House Mafia’s Pete Tong Essential Takeover as Essential New Tune right over to the guys’ ‘Until Now’ album. Relishing in the remix world they too have had duties in the studio for Axwell, Bob Sinclar, Kings of Tomorrow and Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.Behind the decks Those Usual Suspects are never shy of an epic show or two. Australia knows Marquee as a regular while the USA keeps it spinning across the whole country and Europe, UK and Asia relish in the Suspects presence. Adorning the stage at some of Australia’s hottest festivals is also a celebrated occurrence from Stereosonic and Future Music Festival to Good Vibrations, alongside pioneers Nicky Romero, Dirty South, Erick Morillo, Cassius and Martin Solveig. 2013 has kicked off a divine start with an inaugural highlight at Miami Music Week where the shows were in a plenty.
