“Clockwork isn’t really something that was thought through,
it went thruogh actually no stages of planning whatsoever”. Francesco Leali and
Federico Maccherone AKA Clockwork. A project born in early 2010 but only
officially launched on February 2011 with the release of their debut Ep “It’s
You Again” on Hot Creations, that unexpectedly gave them the chance to work and
perform with some of the most experienced, inspiring and valuable members and
events of the Electronic music scene today. Francesco Leali
and Federico Maccheron push their brand of darkened disco and woozy techno for
the 18th edition of the Rebel Rebel podcast. Not quite as sleazy as Clockwork's "It's You Again"
nor set in such free-flowing dreamscapes as Avatism's "Taking it Too
Seriously," the majority of Archetypes occupies a dusty groove
between dejection and optimism; on the one hand you have the tightly-wrung
claustrophobia of "One Trick Pony," on the other, the soothing caress
of "Archetype." Crucially, though, these elements are not exhausted
on a single track; despite having very different tonal outcomes, it's still
obvious they've been made from the same base stock. Avatism's remix is unquestionably excellent, with a dominant
bassline and occasional, lethargic keys combining with undeniable class.Listen song here:YouTube
